Hydronic Radiant Heating A Practical Guide for the

February 9th, 2016

Brand: Dan Holohan Associates Inc.
$24.75
I wrote this book for people who prefer plain-English explanations of how things work. You won’t find much math in this book. No formulas. No mumbo-jumbo. What you will find are simple words of ordinary conversation, and a lot of very easy-to-follow drawings relating to hydronic radiant heating. There are also stories – lots of them! I like to tell stories about the things I’ve seen as I’ve traveled around the US, Canada and Europe, looking at hydronic radiant installations. I’ve seen installers do things the right way and the wrong way, and I learned from them all. I dug into old books as well as the current literature to write this one, and I did my very best to boil down the engineering into understandable terms. This book contains 215 pages of practical, common sense information that you can use right away. I’ve made lots of analogies to things you already know. Hydronic radiant heating doesn’t have to be complicated or spooky. There are rules of thumb that work, and installers are using them with great success every day. There are simple ways to install and control these systems. I’ll show you how. All in all, you’re going to find straight answers to direct questions in this book. I’ve done my best to present a subject that I love in a way that I think you will find both informative and very enjoyable. ....read more

Pumping Away and other really cool piping options

February 3rd, 2016

$25.00
I wrote this book to describe the beautiful workings of hydronic heating systems and I tried to use words that made the subject spring to life in a visual way. It's been one of my best-selling books for years. I kept the drawings simple. Even if you've never worked with hydronics before, you'll be able to follow these drawings. The first part deals with boiler-room piping and explains how you can put the discoveries of the late, great Gil Carlson to work for you. If you pipe Gil's way, you'll save time, money and never again have to bleed radiators. Thousands of installers have reported great success by following the principles in the first part of this book. I wish I could take credit but the genius was Gil Carlson's. I just did my best to tell his story in plain English. The second half of the book takes the Pumping Away boiler-room piping design and applies it to a delicious menu of piping options. This is a book that you'll refer to again and again. It will save you time and money. And I guarantee that. - Dan Holohan ....read more

Azel SZ84DX Four Zone Valve Controls for Hydronic

January 31st, 2016

SZ-84DX
Azel Technologies Inc.
$105.00
The i-Link series Zone Valve Controls simplify the field wiring and yet control up to four zone valves in a multi-zone hydronic heating system. The contractor friendly Printed Circuit Board eliminates the problem caused by incorrect wiring and saves hours of installation time. There would be no more messy look of conventional zone valve installations. Intelligent Linking System (i-Link) allows unlimited zone expansion with additional i-Link controllers. Field selectable priority with Priority Protection Timer ensures other zones get heat every one hour and prevents freeze-ups in the event of a priority zone failure. The End Switch delay timer let the two wire type zone valves fully opened before turning on the circulator. The panel provides EZ screwless terminal blocks for connections to the thermostats and zone valves. In addition, LED indicators on the front panel provide functional status and easy troubleshooting. Product Features and Benefits: * Front panel indicator lights * Field selectable Priority * Priority timer for protection of a priority zone malfunction and prevention of freeze-ups in the heating zones * Unlimited zone expansion * Dual Isolated End Switches * Three-minute End Switch delay timer for two wire type zone valve applications. Circulator will start only after the zone valve is fully opened. * DIP switch for easy setup of two wire type zone valve applications. No need to hook up wire jumper on the third and fourth terminals on each zone * Works with two, three or four wire type zone valves and thermostats * Compact and modern design * Safety design with all electronic components hiding behind the enclosure * Fuse protection * Simplified wiring * Contractor friendly PCB layout * Easy-Connect Screwless Terminals * 24VAC transformer output with common terminal provides compatibility with electronic thermostats * Universal thermostat compatibility * 100% Factory Tested * Dual Isolated End Switches * Extended three year warranty ....read more

Quick Basic Hydronic Controls A Contractor’s Easy Guide

January 26th, 2016

P I G Pr
$11.97
This short book explains hot water heating (hydronic) controls and circuits from the perspective of power suppy, switch, and load. The book starts with a simple control circuit and builds to multiple zone circuits. It explains that adding a control panel simplifies a job rather than making it more complex. The book then looks at various panels, building from an aquastat relay to multiple-zone and multiple-purpose panels. ....read more
